Due to the fact that Japan loves the number 7 (results in the fact that almost if not all J-pop releases are released on the 7th, the 14th, the 21st or the 28th..) , I’m very surprised that Tegoshi Yuuya’s new tanpatsu drama Shabake is airing on the 24th or November.
I’ve known about this for awhile now, but I’ve never really knew the date of broadcast. I feel like Tegoshi is giving me a present lool… ^_^.
On Dramawiki, Takaki Yuuya is also listed as a very minor character. Even though he’s not my favourite member of Hey! Say! JUMP, I’m still very interested to see him perform.
Looking forward to it.
Edit: After talking about it, Tegoshi probably wasn’t the one who decided what day it will be aired… =(
This single release was brought to my attention by fellow fangirl, Pei.
Surprisingly, I really like this song. I think it’s the best thing since K(A)T-TUN (I hope you understand this lol) released Bokura no Machi de last year (I haven’t yet heard cartoon KAT-TUN II You). I strongly disliked Yorokobi no Uta and SIGNAL. I thought they were quite horrible. However, I’m extremely impressed by Keep the faith. It’s new and addicting. This is the stuff that I expect of KAT-TUN, the quality of their voices and the display of talent in the PV.
However, just because I like the song, does not mean I think it is perfect. Everytime I hear the chorus, I’m tempted to change the melody to something more beautiful and less repetitive. However, I think the melody is alright. Though, their demonstration of what they are capable of totally blew me away. There are three things I really wanna pick about this PV. First, when they came on screen, I went, “WHAT THE HELL ARE THEY WEARING?!?!?” They all look like they stole clothes from hobos from Akihabara (I’m just guessing here; I don’t even know if Akihabara has hobos.), put them through the most expensive laundry system, and then somehow they all came out like new. Akanishi Jin actually looked like a … zebra!! OMG! It’s so bad. Ugh. And what the hell is Kamenashi wearing? It just looks like a checkered bed sheet folded and cut into strips but not all the way. It’s SO WEIRD. Don’t even wanna talk about it anymore. Second, I feel that Nakamaru and Akanishi do not have screen presence. In all of their PV’s and performances, Kamenashi was always the one that had caught my eye. Even now. I was never a Akanishi fangirl, and maybe this is why Nakamaru is always been ignored. Third… … … … TAGUCHI went blonde!!! OMG!!!! I’ve always imaged him as Max-like, in the sense of a young and cute boy from next door. I’m still in the middle of Hanayome to Papa for God’s sake..!! Why destroy my innocentimage of him (he’s the one in the top middle for the second picture)??? Just think of Max before the filming of the PV for Choosey Lover. I feel like the boy I’ve had my eyes on grew up too quickly…
I really like the song. Honestly I do. The PV’s not so bad either. But… I wish they were a bit more sensitive with the wardrobe… Idols aren’t supposed to be dressed like hobos.
All in all, I did not enjoy it that much. It started very well but ended quite sappy and unoriginal. The manga was way better.
The only one that out-performed their manga counterpart was Ikuta Toma. Even though, sometimes he was exaggerated too, however his personality and his expressions were right on. Horikita Maki and Oguri Shun both did not do their characters justice. I feel that Oguri’s version of Sano was a bit more emo and aloof than the real Sano Izumi. All in all, definitely not the greatest drama. I recommend the manga to people more.
In the supporting characters area, I felt that Okada Masaki who played Sekime Kyogo did an extremey good job. After going to his drama wiki page, I found out that he is younger than me and his birthday is the same as Matsumoto Jun, which makes him six years younger than MatsuJun…
I’m gonna finish watching Hana Kimi. Why? Because I’ve just found out that Inagaki Goro guest stars in it. I’m curious as to who it is. Umm… Omoshiroi naa~~
Japanese Actors and Actresses is something I’ve thought about writing for awhile now, because I find it interesting when I find actors in different series playing different roles. I’ll update the category here and then, so be on the lookout..!
Daito Shunsuke (d-wiki) - the first drama I saw him in was Nobuta. wo Produce. He played Tani, who got picked on by other people and blamed Shuji because Shuji didn’t notice. At the time, I thought he wasn’t that great an actor because he was very over-dramatic in the few scenes that he was in; I didn’t really think that much of him. Literally years later, which was recently, when I was watching Hanazakari no Kimitachi he awhile ago, the talk of Sano Shin was surfacing between Umeda and Izumi and I wondered, “Gee, I wonder who plays Sano Shin.” Then they had the magazine scan of him smiling with a medal around his neck, and I went, “It’s Tani from Nobuta!” After I stopped watching Hana Kimi, I started watching First Kiss, and in one of the episodes, Mio meets a flirt, who, coincidentally was also played by Daito Shunsuke. This got me thinking, “How can he be in two drama series in one drama season,” but I guess it probably won’t be a problem because one of the appearances was as an extra. Even more surprising, I started Oishii Proposal, and was also surprised in finding out that he is a worker in the restaurant that Suzuko works in. And just today, when I saw the first episode of Himitsu no Hanazono, I noticed that he was one of the workers for Kayo’s new office. I find it funny because it looks like he’s in everything I watch *lol*.
